Alpha2EQ injection - Alpha-2-macroglobulin (α2M) is a naturally occurring protein within the blood. The molecule has the ability to block the destructive effect of these enzymes by capturing them in a “trap” when the enzymes cleave the molecule’s amino acid “bait” region. α2M has a unique multimodal mechanism of action: non-specific protease inhibition, gene regulation, as well as cytokine and growth factor modulation.

 

 Alpha2EQ can be used in all joints to reduce inflammation and slow the progression of osteoarthritis. It does not have a competition withdrawal time. Results can be seen in as little as 7 days.

 

What is Alpha2EQ?

Alpha2EQ is a system that isolates and concentrates the Alpha 2 Macroglobulin (α2M) molecule from a horse’s blood.

 

How does Alpha2EQ Work?

Alpha 2 Macroglobulin (α2M) inhibits all 4 classes of proteases, including the enzymes that break down joint cartilage. It inhibits these enzymes using a “trapping mechanism,” similar to the way a Venus flytrap captures its prey. Amp-5

Alpha2EQ can be administered by your veterinarian directly into joints (intra-articular) or in and around soft tissue, such as flexor tendons or suspensory ligaments.
