Prednikel 2.5 is a prednisolone widely used in the field of camel racing, as a pre-competitive anti-inflammatory.

Has a smoother glucocorticoid potency than dexamethasone, but a superior corticoid mineral potency.

Indications

Relief of inflammation and clinical parameters associated with recurrent pathway obstruction.
Respiratory in horses, in combination with environmental control.

 

Contraindications

Don´t use in case of known hypersensitivity to the active substance, corticosteroids or Any of the excipients.

Don´t use in case of viral infections during the viremia stage or in case of infections Systemic fungal infections.

Don´t use in animals with gastrointestinal ulcers.

Don´t use on animals with corneal ulcers.

Don´t use during pregnancy.

 

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION  

Modality 1º – 1 Shot :

Horse pre- race and training : 5ml to 7 ml 72 hs before the race, IV very slow

Horse pre- race and training : 4ml to 6 ml 72 hs before the race, IV very slow.

 

Modality 2º – 3 Shots :

Horse pre- race and training :

1º shot 5ml 5 days before the race IV or IM

2º shot 5 ml 4 days before the race IV or IM

3º shot 4 ml 72 hs before the race, IV very slow

 

Camel, pre- race and training :

1º shot 4ml 5 days before the race IV or IM

2º shot 4 ml 4 days before the race IV or IM

3º shot 3 ml 72 hs before the race, IV very slow

 

FORMULA

25mg prednisolone

1 ml Sterile water

 

Proportion :

2.5 % prednisolone,

each bottle 100ml contains 2500 mg of prednisolone

Triamcinolone acetonide 0.2 g.

INDICATIONS

DOSAGES AND ADMINISTRATION

General: Acetonide Triamcinolone 12-30 mg / kg 24 hours IM SC. Practical: 5 to 15 ml.

Dosages range from approximately 2 to 5 ml depending on many factors.

For safe application pre-race  (Horse and camel): 2 ml (IV only) 6-8hs hours before the race.

Min Dose : 1 ml IV  5 hs before the race, or 1 ml IM 6 before the race

Max Dose:  5 ml IV 8 hs before the race, or 5 ml IM 10 hs Before the race.
